- Get hands-on with firewalls, new site installations, servers, storage, CCTV and operational technology
About the role
We're growing our Business Systems Group and have created an additional permanent position for an experienced ICT Infrastructure and Networking Officer. You'll join the team supporting the City of Coffs Harbour's network and infrastructure, as part of our ICT team.
This is a hands-on technical role with a strong networking focus and plenty of variety. You'll support network and infrastructure services across more than 50 sites in a diverse, multi-site environment. You'll help manage and maintain the connectivity and infrastructure that keep the City's sites and services secure, reliable and running smoothly.
Your work will span day-to-day operations, complex troubleshooting and new installations. You'll be involved in:
- Configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting firewalls, VPNs, network switches, Wi-Fi and connectivity between sites.
- Installing and configuring network infrastructure for new sites and changes to existing locations.
- Supporting building management systems (BMS), administering CCTV systems and working with operational technology (OT) networks.
- Administering servers, storage and virtual infrastructure, and contributing to our transition to cloud-based services.
- Monitoring performance and availability, applying patches, strengthening cybersecurity controls and supporting business continuity and disaster recovery.
You'll also share knowledge with our Service Desk and contribute ideas to improve how we manage and support the City's technology.
As part of the role, you'll participate in an on-call roster which is shared across the team, helping ensure our critical ICT services are supported when needed. Applicable allowances and penalties will be paid.
Please refer to the Position Description for a more detailed understanding of the role.
