About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineering professional to help shape the future of water and wastewater services across the Coffs Coast.

As our Strategic Planning Engineer Water & Wastewater, you'll be at the forefront of long-term infrastructure planning, helping guide major investment decisions that will support community growth, environmental sustainability and service reliability for generations to come. Working closely with senior leaders and technical specialists, you'll develop strategic infrastructure programs, undertake complex planning and modelling activities, influence asset management outcomes and provide expert advice that shapes the City's future direction.

This role offers the unique combination of strategic thinking, technical leadership and community impact. You'll have the opportunity to challenge conventional approaches, drive innovation, secure funding opportunities and help deliver infrastructure solutions that make a genuine difference to the region.

About you

Tertiary qualifications in engineering, water resources or a related discipline underpin your experience in water and wastewater planning, asset management or infrastructure strategy. Known for your practical mindset and ability to make sense of complex information, you enjoy finding solutions and turning ideas into action. Strong communication skills, sound judgement and a collaborative approach allow you to work effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. Experience in hydraulic modelling and eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia or an equivalent professional body would be advantageous.

What's on offer?

  • Competitive Salary from $121,675.80 to 128,079.79 p/a depending on your capabilities and experience + allowances + 12% superannuation
  • This position attracts an additional 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance
  • An enhanced salary package may be available for an outstanding candidate
  • Permanent Full Time 35 hours per week
