About the role
The City of Coffs Harbour is looking for an experienced and inspiring leader to join our Executive Leadership Team as the Group Leader Planning and Environment.
Reporting directly to the Director City Planning and Communities, you'll provide strategic direction across a diverse portfolio spanning planning, environmental management, development assessment, building certification, development engineering, compliance, public health and natural resource planning. This is a rare opportunity to shape and influence the future of a growing regional city while enjoying the lifestyle benefits of living and working on the beautiful Coffs Coast.

About you
We're looking for a confident and collaborative leader who enjoys building high-performing teams, navigating complexity and creating positive outcomes for communities. You will combine strategic thinking with practical delivery and have a proven ability to inspire people, influence stakeholders and lead change.
You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in town planning, urban planning, natural resource planning or a related discipline.
- Significant senior leadership experience within planning, development, environmental management or related fields.
- Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams through change and transformation.
- Strong strategic thinking, political acumen and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working across government, industry and community sectors.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation and relationship-building capabilities.
- A passion for creating sustainable, thriving communities.
