Planner / Urban Designer - Fixed term 2 years

About the role

We are seeking a Planner / Urban Designer to join our Sustainable Places Group on a 2-year fixed-term contract. In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of place planning projects that will require you to possess specific project management, urban design, and engagement skills.

Working closely and collaboratively across Council, you will lead and deliver detailed concept designs for key strategic capital works projects. You will manage consultants and engage a diverse range of stakeholders, demonstrating exceptional project management capability and highly effective communication and engagement skills.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead key City shaping projects involving urban design, master planning, and public realm improvements, all while contributing to a high-performing and innovative organisation.

About you

You are a motivated and experienced project manager, planning or urban design professional with demonstrated experience in project management and development of detailed concept designs / masterplans with a focus on aligning endorsed strategies with delivery. You bring the ability to manage complex projects and engage effectively with stakeholders and the community. Your collaborative approach, strong communication skills, and commitment to delivering sustainable, place-based outcomes will see you thrive in this role. A relevant tertiary qualification and demonstrated experience in project management, urban planning, urban design or a related field are essential, along with a current Class C Driver Licence.
