Technical Officers Water & Wastewater - Multiple Opportunities

Coffs Harbour, Australia

Reference: 6891893

  • Bring your technical capability (or emerging engineering skills) to an essential service.
  • Join a knowledgeable, supportive team and learn from experienced operators and leaders.
  • Make a genuine, visible impact for our community — every day.

About the role

The City of Coffs Harbour has multiple opportunities for Technical Officers to join our Water & Wastewater Services teams, working across Water Services and Wastewater Operation streams. These roles suit experienced technical officers as well as emerging engineers who enjoy applying practical engineering thinking in a real-world operational environment.

In these roles, you'll provide technical and administrative support that helps keep the City's water and wastewater systems running safely, compliantly and efficiently. Your work will be varied — combining office-based technical coordination with site inspections and stakeholder liaison — and will include supporting key programs such as:

  • Asset protection and operational investigations, including improving asset data quality and resolving anomalies in GIS/asset systems;
  • Operational and customer-focused technical advice, including liaising with internal teams, customers and contractors and contributing to practical solutions; and
  • Compliance and administration activities, such as program-based audits and coordination (e.g., maintenance scheduling and reviewing wastewater network operations in the wastewater stream; backflow prevention, metering, pressure testing and related administration in the water stream).

If you like solving problems, working with data and systems, getting out on site, and seeing your work translate into better outcomes for the community, this could be the role for you

Please refer to the attached position descriptions for further details or reach out to our Talent Team.
