About the role
Launch your career in a dynamic and essential industry by joining our Development Assessment team as a Cadet Building Certifier. In this role, you'll gain valuable hands-on experience while working towards (or finalising) a recognised qualification in Building Surveying / or construction management.
Guided by experienced professionals, you'll gain practical skills in assessing development applications, issuing certificates, conducting inspections, and applying the National Construction Code. You'll work across both residential and commercial projects, supporting Council's building certification programs, contributing to strategic planning outcomes, and helping to ensure compliance with legislative and policy requirements.
This structured training opportunity will equip you with the knowledge and experience needed to become a qualified Building Certifier and make a real impact in your community.
The start date for this Cadetship is early 2026.

About You
You're someone who's passionate about starting your career in Building Certification and ready to take the next step combining part time study with working full time.
You're currently enrolled in either:
- a Commonwealth supported place at university or registered training organisation, in an Advanced Diploma in Building Surveying; or
- in penultimate or last year of study in Construction Management / Building Surveying qualification
You hold a Class C Driver's Licence and are keen to apply your learning in a practical, fast-paced environment.
What's on offer?
- Weekly salary from between $827.40 - $1,073.405 (depending on your age and current qualifications) + 12% superannuation
- Temporary two-year, Full Time 35hrs hours per week.
