About the role

The City is seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to join our team as the Section Leader Transport Services. In this key role, you will manage the roads maintenance section and lead the delivery of vital asset maintenance services for the City's roads, bridges, and stormwater drainage assets. Your expertise will be instrumental in collaborating on asset planning and executing transport projects that enhance our community.

As the Section Leader Transport Services, you will oversee the maintenance program focusing on efficient and sustainable practices. Your responsibilities will include preparing contract documentation, awarding contracts, and ensuring adherence to specifications, timelines, and budgets. With strong financial acumen, you will manage maintenance expenditure and report on budgets to achieve financial goals while fostering productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

We are looking for someone with proven knowledge in contract administration, asset maintenance, and a commitment to workplace health and safety. Your ability to lead and inspire a diverse team will be essential as you drive change and continuous improvement within the section. About you

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent related discipline.
  • Significant experience in civil construction and maintenance of infrastructure assets and/or transport operations in either the private or government sector
  • Class C Drivers Licence
  • National Construction Industry Induction Certificate (Whitecard).
