Team Leader Payroll

About the role

The Team Leader Payroll plays a crucial role in overseeing all payroll operations for The City. This role is responsible for providing expert guidance and leadership to ensure that payroll processes are carried out accurately, efficiently and in accordance with legislation. This includes processing wages, salaries, managing external lodgements, and producing payroll reporting.

The position involves leading the payroll team to deliver exceptional customer service while driving continuous improvements in payroll administration and systems.

The ideal candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of modern payroll practices and have experience in handling high-volume payroll processing, including end-of-month and end-of-financial-year procedures. We are looking for an individual who is passionate, innovative, and dedicated to fostering collaboration within the team and across the organisation to ensure the smooth and effective execution of all payroll functions.

About you

You're a qualified payroll leader with experience managing teams and overseeing end to end payroll operations, including EOM and EOFY. You bring expert knowledge of payroll legislation, Awards, and Enterprise Agreements, paired with strong problem solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Detail oriented and discreet, you lead with integrity and confidently handle sensitive information using your solid technical and organisational capabilities.
